The 2015/2016 holiday season was a great year for our lights. A brief summary of our changes this year from previous years is detailed below:
- We parked the trailer on the lawn to act as a backing for the musicians.
- We used Lawn Lights for the first time. We had procured these lights several years back when we got that trailer-full of stuff from the guy in SLC and never dared incorporate them into our show until this year.
- We installed 7 RGB "dumb" floods pointed at the house. In order to make the floods work, we had to purchase and install a DC Board CMB24D as well as a 12V power supply. We wired up the power supply and controller in our utility room and then utilized the CAT5 wiring in the house to send the signal out to where we installed the floods.
- Our water main broke while flushing the air bubble from the well, so we had to relocate part of the lights to dig up the front yard!
- We refactored several of our songs and integrated them into the show this year. Late adds to the display (right around Christmas) were Skyrim, Drummer Boy, and The Roar.
- Tina really stepped it up and tested lights all throughout October so we were ready to start hanging around Halloween.
- We significantly reduced the size of the mega tree and pulled it forward into the lawn. We used an old tether-ball frame to hold the lights.
