During 2009 we were living in an apartment complex whilst building our house. We hung a single string of lights on our balcony, and spent Christmas Eve pouring the floor in our basement rather than dancing with the lights on our house.
The holidays were a bit atypical for us, but we we made the best of it, and looked forward to resuming our griswald-like behaviors in our new home.
